24 HOURS OF FASTING & PRAYER
On June 2, our church will set aside 24 hours to fast and pray. We invite you to join us as we deny our physical needs to draw closer to Jesus together. Fasting is a spiritual discipline that deepens our relationship with the Father, realigns our spiritual focus, and reminds us that He is enough. It is also a very powerful spiritual weapon that every Christian should have in their armor.

#1. Don't Tell
Although the Bible shows us in the Book of Esther that God can call communities to fast together for a common purpose, our Pastor’s heart is for each one of us to have our own personal experience with God as we learn and grow together in the discipline of fasting.
“Whenever you fast, don’t be gloomy like the hypocrites. For they make their faces unattractive so that their fasting is obvious to people. Truly I tell you, they have their reward. But when you fast, put oil on your head and wash your face, so that your fasting isn’t obvious to others but to your Father who is in secret. And your Father who sees in secret will reward you.” Mat. 6:16–18
#2. Don't Eat
Jesus shows us in Gospel of Matthew 4:2 that biblical fasting is directly connected to food. It is not simply the act of not eating, but a deliberate choice to deny the flesh so that the Spirit can guide and direct us as we grow more dependent on God.

“After he had fasted forty days and forty nights, he was hungry.” Mat. 4:2
#3. Pray
#4. Repeat
Be intentional about talking to God throughout your fast. Invite Him into your whole day. Don’t wait until you get hungry to pray; stay in continual conversation with Him. Ask with expectation for Him to reveal Himself to you in a way that you haven’t experienced Him before. Be confident that if God calls you to it, He intends to accomplish His will through it.
“But let him ask in faith without doubting. For the doubter is like the surging sea, driven and tossed by the wind. That person should not expect to receive anything from the Lord” James 1:6–7
1 HOUR GUIDED PRAYER
